*Please note that any restoring on mailbox for the periods December 2023 and April, May and early June 2024 cannot be done due to the loss of data for these periods. *

 

To restore a mailbox via VEEAM open VEEAM Backup for Microsoft 365 connect.

 

Click on “Explore” and select “Explore Exchange point-in-time state…”

 

Click on the date you want to restore from.

 

Find the person you want to restore the mailbox

 

Before you restore the mailbox. Create a new shared mailbox. To do this create the user on hybrid and convert it to a shared mailbox. Please name the user for e.g. kevincahillrestored@imgroup.co.uk for example.

Make sure this is an Office 365 Mailbox first.

In active directory makes sure the user is in the IM_SHARED_MAILBOX

 

*important* You need to open the shared mailbox for it to be built for the next step to work. Give yourself access to the shared mailbox. This may take up to 30 minutes for it to show up.

 

Type in the mailbox you want it to be restored

Let the mailbox to be restored.

Once the mailbox is restored inform the person of interest that this is done, and they can now have access to the restore mailbox.
